"During the last few years, my firm has had the opportunity to work with Mr. Chaz Henderson of Henderson & Company, Inc. Throughout this time frame, I have found Chaz to be a straight forward, honest, and hard working contractor. Of particular interest, in our past association is a project involving the construction of nine new golf holes at the Blue Ridge Trail Golf Course in Mountaintop, PA. "I am writing this Letter of Reference on behalf of Chaz Henderson and the work he and his company performed in the fall of 1998 and the spring of 1999 as part of a Ron Forse and Jim Nagle designed Master Plan Renovation at the AW Tillinghast designed Valley Country Club. The scope of the work entailed the building of three USGA Spec greens, the renovation and/or construction of seventy bunkers, the modification or construction of several tees, and the construction of several earth features to enhance the strategic playability of the golf course. The work was completed on schedule and was greeted with resounding approval by membership. There are two camps in golf course renovation work. The first involves bringing in a big company, blowing up the golf course, and getting the work done as quickly as possible. The second option is to bring in a smaller company, cause less disruption, and try to remain open while the coursework in completes. Chaz’s willingness to keep to a tight footprint throughout the process allowed us to keep the course open and in turn keep the members only slightly inconvenienced throughout the entire process. I credit Chaz’s personality as the biggest reason that I enjoyed working with him. He is genuinely interested in respecting the classic architecture that he is renovating, and is intent on seeing that the work in completed correctly. I have always found him to be approachable, and I appreciate that he is responsive to any concerns set forth by architects or the membership. Chaz enjoys what he does and that is reflected in the product that he produces.
